Huawei will be bringing a couple of new products to Malaysia soon. One of which includes the Watch GT Cyber, the brand’s latest wearable which offers a feature not found on most smartaches currently available in the market: a detachable dial. Today, the company has announced that the pre-orders for the device are now available starting today until 14 April 2023, exclusively via Urban Republic.
The Watch GT Cyber, as mentioned earlier, comes with a special personalisation gimmick that lets you detach its dial and swap the current bezel and strap to one of a different colour. The base versions that are available include the sportier Midnight Black or the more premium-looking Golden Black, while sold separately are the Space Grey and all-yellow strap variant. Do take note that Urban Edition straps such as the Golden Black option weighs slightly heavier at 78 g, while the Sport Edition ones including the Midnight Black and Space Grey come in at 58 g. Regardless of choice, all of the device’s available straps support wrist sizes from 140 to 210 mm.
The Watch GT Cyber’s dial itself features a 1.32-inch AMOLED touchscreen with 466 x 466 pixel resolution and 352 PPS, and is rated at 5 ATM in terms of water resistance. Meanwhile, the included casings are built from varying materials depending on the variant. For instance, the Urban Edition has a nanocrystal ceramic and 316 L stainless steel case, while the Sport Edition comes with a Fibre-reinforced composite one instead. Either way, the straps included are made from “high-performance” rubber.
Being a smartwatch, you can expect Huawei’s new wearable to come with the features that are typically offered by other wearables from the brand, as well as from others. These include the usual smart functions such as customisable watch faces, remote calling and music playback, and numerous health and fitness monitoring capabilities. In regards to the latter, the Watch GT Cyber is equipped with over 100 workout modes, as well as an assortment of health tracking tools for sleep, heart rate, SpO2 and more.
Besides that, it also features a built-in microphone and speaker, GPS and Bluetooth connectivity, and is compatible with smartphones that run from Harmony OS 2, Android 7.0 or iOS 9.0 or later. In terms of battery, Huawei says the wearable is capable of lasting up to seven days of regular use, and is charged wirelessly via the included proprietary cradle.
The all new Watch GT Cyber is expected to be available in stores by mid April onwards, retailing at RM 999 for the Midnight Black option and RM 1,099 for Golden Black. In conjunction with the product’s launch, Huawei is also throwing in complimentary watch straps for those who pre-order the device within 6 April to 14 April 2023, while stocks last.
As mentioned earlier, pre-orders for the upcoming smartwatch are now available, but exclusive via Urban Republic’s online or physical stores. Interested buyers may follow this link to book a unit of the new Huawei Watch GT Cyber.
